A frenetic final 20 minutes saw Watford Under-18s lose out by the odd goal in five against Cardiff City.

With the scoreboard reading 0-0 as the game meandered towards a conclusion, minutes there was little indication about the chaos which would ensue.

City broke the deadlock with 73 minutes on the clock when Isaak Davies found the net, but the Golden Boys were soon level thanks to Joel Bell’s almost immediate reply.

The end-to-end nature of the game continued and Cardiff seemingly put themselves in control as Trystan Jones found the net before Davies notched his second with nine minutes to play.

Watford were given hope of a late comeback when Jayden Bennetts scored in the 86th minute but it wasn’t to be as Cardiff held out for a dramatic win.

The Golden Boys are back in action when they travel to Charlton Athletic on Friday where they will hope to put an end to a five game winless run.
