Wealdstone picked up their second 1-0 away victory of pre-season on Saturday courtesy of Bradley Bubb's second-half header against Swindon Supermarine at the Webbswood Stadium.

There were further positives in terms of game time for manager Bobby Wilkinson with Yado Mambo and Luke Williams each playing an hour after months out injured.

The game was played out on a lush playing surface with Supermarine boasting experienced forward Stuart Fleetwood, who was making his debut.

And it was Fleetwood who almost opened the scoring moments into the game after he was played through on goal, but he opted to chip Jonathan North off the bouncing ball and it just went over.

Freddie Grant was thwarted by Kev Sawyer on 20 minutes after he was played in by Jeffrey Monakana; Mambo headed just wide from the resulting corner.

Both sides had an effort on goal each just before half time. Josh Parsons swerved a shot just wide from the edge of the area and Bradley Hudson-Odoi hooked an effort off target from inside the penalty area.

Wilkinson introduced all but one substitute on the hour mark and it was one of those in Bubb who opened the scoring. Hudson-Odoi picked out his teammate with an inch-perfect cross and the striker nodded past Sawyer.

The hosts almost grabbed a late equaliser when Ryan Campbell capitalised on a Rhys Tyler mistake but he toe-poked it wide of the goal when clear through.

Wealdstone continue their preparations for the new campaign at Grosvenor Vale tomorrow night where they host National League Premier side Maidenhead United.

The match kicks off at 7.45pm and reduced admission costs £8 for adults, £4 for concessions and £3 for Under-18s.
