Watford are calling on supporters to pitch in and help beat the Beast from the East and Storm Emma ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League meeting with West Brom.

The Hornets are hopeful the game will go ahead at Vicarage Road, but are nonetheless asking fans to Volunteer and help clear the pitch, stands and walkways of any snow ahead of the 3pm kick-off.

A club statement said there has been no significant change to conditions at the stadium or surrounding areas since an update was issued on Thursday.

That message said less than an inch of snow has fallen in the area and Watford are doing everything possible to ensure the game goes ahead without incident.

The call to arms brings back memories of the visit of Huddersfield Town in 2013 when the Golden Boys faithful helped clear the pitch.

On that occasion supporters were repaid for their commitment to the cause with a memorable 4-1 Watford win.

Volunteers will given a pair of complimentary match tickets as well being kept warm with tea, coffee and bacon rolls.

Entry to the Vic can be gained at any time from 8.30am via the black double gates in the south-east corner of the ground, which are located between the Rookery and Sir Elton John Stand.

No limit has been put on the number of volunteers and those who do chose to help get the game on are welcome to bring non-metal snow shovels.
