BOREHAMWOOD should take a leaf out of Potters Bar’s book and join in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, Hertsmere’s mayor said.
Councillor Peter Knell is working with Barclays, in Darkes Lane, to get Potters Bar involved in the event, one of numerous across the country raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support on September 30.
He is now calling on the people of Borehamwood to get together and host a similar day to raise even more cash for the charity.
He said: “We are going to make it as big as possible. I’d like Borehamwood to join us otherwise Potters Bar is going to be the only place in Hertsmere doing something.
“I’d like as many shops in Borehamwood as possible to take part but I can’t be everywhere all the time. Somebody needs to go out and talk to the shops.”
He called on Barclays to get involved there as well as in Potters Bar.
