CHILDREN spent their “last day of freedom” before returning to school at a Tottenham fun day designed to repair the damage of the riots.
Families gathered at Park View, in Langham Road, yesterday from midday until 7pm, when there was a bouncy castle, zumba classes and performances by teenagers.
Rosemary Charles, of mentoring group the 100 Black Men of London (100BMOL), said: “It’s an opportunity for the community to come together and not be afraid to come into Tottenham.
“It’s not just for the Caribbean community – it’s for the whole community. It’s also the last day of freedom for the children before they go back to school.”
