ECSTATIC pupils at a Tottenham school are celebrating this morning after collecting their GCSE results.

There were tears and hugs at Park View, in Langham Road, where grades were handed out to crowds of anxious teenagers at 10am this morning.

Martin Edwards, 16, of Higham Road, Tottenham, got nine A*s and four As together with an A in A/S level religious studies.

He said: “I was excited and nervous this morning but when I opened the envelope I was just overwhelmed. I was really pleased.

“It was really hard, I was revising every day for two or three hours and going to lots of after school clubs but the teachers here are really great.

“They offered lots of support and they made revising more fun. You would have thought it was a slog but they made it really fun.”

He is planning on going to Woodhouse College to study biology, chemistry, geography and maths.

Marva Kreel, 16, of Warwick Gardens, got three A*s, eight As and a B and is going to Woodhouse to do drama, English, history and sociology.

She said: “First of all I was just nervous but now it’s a relief. I was just scared and wanted to know how I did.

“It’s a relief just to know that all my hard work paid off. It’s a nice way to end the five years of school.

“All the teachers, any time I wanted any help with anything, they would just offer me so much. It’s all down to them really.”
