A FLASHER was jailed for 18 months after a series of “disgusting” attacks on Tube passengers.

Alistair Ferguson, 46, from Dartford, exposed himself to three woman in separate incidents at Rayners Lane, Northwick Park and Great Portland Street Stations between October and May.

PC Joanne Drake, of the British Transport Police (BTP), said: “These incidents must have been very frightening for the victims.

“Despite this, they reported the crimes immediately, enabling us to download the CCTV which ultimately led to his conviction.”

She added: “Sexual offences such as these are not common and Ferguson’s sentence sends a clear message that this disgusting behaviour will not go unpunished.”

He was handed the 18-month sentence at Blackfriars Crown Court along with a five-year ASBO banning him from going near a railway station, train or platform unless he is accompanied.

Mike Maynard, head of operational support of London Underground, said: “Ferguson’s actions were offensive and despicable.

“We are glad the CCTV on our network helped the police to track him down and bring him to justice.

“While these sorts of incidents are not common on our network, we want the millions of passengers who travel on the underground every day to feel safe.

“This jail sentence should reassure Londoners that we will always work hard to identify and bring these criminals to justice.”

Ferguson was jailed on Thursday, August 27.
