Research into search traffic has revealed the country's divorce hotspots amid a focus on the issue by Netflix's hit royal drama, The Crown.

The analysis was undertaken by Newcastle-based family solicitors, Beecham Peacock, and found several places in the UK with higher than average search queries for divorce.

The research found that from November 2021 to October 2022 there were an average of 27,000 monthly searches for 'divorce' in the UK.

From August to October 2022, there was a 14% increase in searches for 'how to apply for divorce' and a 23% rise in searches for 'how much does it cost to get a divorce.'

These findings come after changes to divorce law saw the introduction of no-fault separation in England and Wales in a bid to end the "blame game" in divorce proceedings.
