A Newton Aycliffe man's single has been officially released after huge hype on social media - and you can now download it.

Jordan Coulthard's debut track 'Miracle' has been today launched across streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music.

The new artist, a 23-year-old who actually works as a police officer, has been working with a big music name for the past few months to bring out the song.

Known as Coulthard, he has put his spin on the noughties classic 'I Need a Miracle' from music legend, Coco Star.

Familiar to many, the original was reinvented at the turn of the 2000s and turned into 'Toca's Miracle' by Fragma, growing to be a timeless classic.

And Coulthard has again reimagined the song, but this time with influences from the likes of Tiesto and with his own vocals.

Previously speaking to The Northern Echo, Coulthard said he had never heard a mainstream male cover of the song and wanted to "bring it into the 21st century."

The song features the same lyrics as the original from Coco Star but with his vocals and influences from Tiesto on how the backing track sounds.

In the build-up to today's release, snippets have been previewed on social media, prompting hype from hundreds of listeners.

Meanwhile, the song aired for the first time on Aycliffe Radio earlier this month and only last week, the song aired on BBC Radio Wales.

At the time, he said BBC radio presenter Ian Watkins, also known as H, had played the full track to thousands of listeners, prompting further excitement from fans.

According to Coulthard, the song should now be available on streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.

It is thought that the song will be distributed to other radio stations such as Heart and Capital in coming weeks as he hopes it will reach the top 40.
