Notting Hill Carnival is making its triumphant return this year, with the event set to be bigger than ever after taking a few years of Covid forced-induced break.

With expectations higher than ever, the borough is expected to see nearly two million carnival fans descend on the area over the bank holiday weekend.

Organisers have said the event will also be greener than ever before, using its first ever electric float after partnering up with music app Spotify to make the carnival more eco-friendly.

When and where is Notting Hill Carnival?

Keeping in tradition, the Notting Hill Carnival is returning to its slot of the August Bank Holiday from August 27 to 29.

Much like its name suggests, the carnival takes place in Notting Hill but also goes into the streets or neighbouring areas.

Those areas are Ladbroke Grove, Westbourne Park, Westbourne Grove and Bayswater.

What is the parade route for Notting Hill Carnival 2022?

The parade is around three and a half miles long and takes up much of the W10 area.

The parade starts near Westbourne Grove tube station at 9.30am before travelling down to Great Western Road.

It then slowly moves back toward Westbourne Grove after circling much of the surrounding area.
