The loss of fashion designer and former footballer Marvin Morgan will be felt by many whose lives he touched.

It was clear following the news of his death that Watford truly has lost a community hero and inspiration.

His career at 17 football clubs, starting up fashion brand ‘Fresh Ego Kid’ after illness struck deserve respect, but it was clear that Marvin was much more than just a man of many talents.

As people paid tribute, many referred to his mesmerising smile or referred to him as a joker and applauded his upbeat and humble personality.

But Marvin also made a difference in the community with his extensive record of voluntary work and his time dedicated to helping young people.

Fresh Ego FC, a club launched by Marvin to engage with local schools and youth football teams, has played a big part in helping inspire people and to raise awareness of issues surrounding mental health and racism, while hundreds of struggling families have benefited from his work.

So yes, Marvin’s talents should be applauded, but his ability to adapt - “hustle”, as Anthony Joshua said - and still have a heart of gold is the reason he will go down in Watford’s history.
