A High Street is among the roads facing disruption from Monday due to a number of temporary closures for works by utility companies.
Notices from Harrow Council in this week’s edition of the Harrow Times detail the extent of the closures in seven roads, including Pinner High Street, and other restrictions that may be required while the works are carried out.
The closure affecting High Street, Pinner, is due to start on October 25 and is expected to remain in place until November 2.
This order will prohibit vehicles from:
- Travelling in an eastbound direction, between its junction with Bridge Street and a opposite the eastern boundary wall of No. 36 High Street.
- Travelling in a westbound direction, between a point opposite the eastern boundary wall of No. 36 High Street and its junction with Bridge Street.
- Turning left into High Street from Grange Gardens.
The alternative route during this time will be via Paines Lane, Uxbridge Road, Pinner, Elm Park Road, Bridge Street and vice versa.
Before then Alveston Avenue, between its junction with Christchurch Avenue and a point opposite the party wall of nos. 14 and 16 Alveston Avenue, is set to be shut from 8am to 5pm from Monday.
These works should be completed by Wednesday and the diversion route will be via Christchurch Avenue, Oakfield Avenue, Hartford Avenue and vice versa.
An order for the closure of The Circuits, between its junction with Cuckoo Hill and its eastern extremity, will also be operational between the same hours from Wednesday. This work is expected to be finished by October 15.
Vehicles will be prevented from travelling in a southbound direction on Brockley Hill between its junctions with Brockley Avenue and Canons Corner.
This order is due to take effect from 8am on October 18 and the works are anticipated to take until November 7 to complete.
Drivers will be diverted via Edgware Road and Spur Road.
Nibthwaite Road, between its junction with Station Road and a point opposite the part wall of Nos. 1 and 3 Nibthwaite Road, is due to be shut from 8am to 5pm from October 19.
These utility works are expected to be completed by October 21 and the alternative route will be via Station Road, Harrow, Hindes Road, Hamilton Road and vice versa.
Shaftesbury Avenue, between its junction with Whitmore Road and a point opposite the boundary wall of No. 157 Shaftesbury Avenue, is due to be closed overnight from 10pm to 5.30am from October 24 for utility works.
The works are expected to be completed by the following day and traffic will be diverted via Whitmore Road, Porlock Avenue, Shaftesbury Circle and vice versa.
Another order operational from 8am to 5pm is due to come into force on October 25 to close Kenton Lane, between its junction with Curzon Avenue and a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 515 and 517 Kenton Lane.
This work should be finished by October 27 and the alternative route will be via Belmont Circle, Weston Drive, Wemborough Road, Abercorn Road, Old Church Lane, Church Road, Uxbridge Road, Stanmore, and vice versa.
