A new Aldi store is set to open this month with the help of a Team GB bronze medallist.

The South Harrow store at Northolt Road is expected to open later this month on October 21 at 8am.

It will be run by store manager Nick Poretti, along with a team of 35 colleagues from the local community.

For the opening, badminton bronze medallist Christopher Langridge will cut the ribbon at the door.

Aldi Store Manager Nick Poretti said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the first store in South Harrow.

“It’s set to be a special day and having Olympic hero Christopher Langridge join us will make it a morning to remember.”

Langridge said: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store, it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of Team GB.”

The store is also calling on local charities and food banks to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to charitable organisations in the community.

Aldi will be open 8am to 10pm on Mondays to Saturdays, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
