Two men have appeared in court accused of murdering a 71-year-old businesswoman.

Mohamed El Abboud, 26, of Gallants Farm Road, Barnet, and Kusai Al-Jundi, 23, of Wood End Road, Harrow, appeared at the Old Bailey for a preliminary hearing by video link from Wormwood Scrubs.

Both men have been charged by the Metropolitan Police with the murder of Louise Kam, who is from Potters Bar.

Ms Kam was last seen by a family member near the Spires Shopping Centre in Chipping Barnet on July 26.

Police launched an investigation to find the missing woman and said it was believed she had driven from Borehamwood to Barnet in a BMW, before making her way to the area of Willesden High Road on the afternoon of July 26.

The BMW was recovered by police on July 28.

Police have now also confirmed that the body of a woman believed to be Ms Kam was discovered at an address in Harrow on August 1.

Although formal identification has yet to take place, Ms Kam’s next of kin have been informed.

In court today (August 4), defendants El Abboud and Al-Jundi confirmed their identities.

Judge Anthony Leonard QC set a plea hearing for October 20 and remanded them in custody.
