EVER since Harry Styles arrived in the city, there has been eager anticipation surrounding the filming of his new movie My Policeman.

So, what can viewers expect from the adaptation Bethan Robert’s 2012 novel of the same name?

Filming on the film is now well underway, so The Argus has complied a handy guide to everything we know about the Amazon Studios production - My Policeman.

Harry Styles, known for being of the most successful members of One Direction, will play Tom, the police officer of the title.

The musician, 27, made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s 2017 war film Dunkirk and will star in Olivia Wilde’s psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling.

Emma Corrin will play Marion, Styles’s on-screen wife.

Emma 25, has become one of the industry’s most sought after actresses thanks to her acclaimed portrayal of a struggling Diana in series four of The Crown.

David Dawson, who starred in the BBC crime drama Luther and Coronation Street, will play Patrick Hazlewood.

Other notable cast members include Linus Roache, Rupert Everett and Line of Duty star Gina McKee.

Award-winning theatre director Michael Grandage will direct from an adapted screenplay by Oscar-winner Ron Nyswaner, who penned 1993 legal drama Philadelphia.

The story takes place in the late 1990s when the arrival of Patrick, an elderly invalid, triggers an exploration of events from 40 years previous – Tom and Patrick’s relationship at a time when being gay was illegal.

Harry Styles will play a gay policeman name Tom, who marries a school teacher named Marion.

But Tom’s heart truly lies with Patrick, a museum curator.

The pair form a secret relationship which eventually threatens to ruin them all.

The movie has been filmed at locations across Sussex.

Harry Styles was spotted filming in various locations around Worthing over the bank holiday weekend, including Worthing Leisure Centre and The Vine pub in Tarring.

Photographs shared on Twitter show the former One Direction star filming alongside his co-star, Emma Corrin from The Crown.

Film trailers, several classic cars and large camera crews have been pictured in the carpark of Worthing Leisure Centre.

Harry Styles has also been filming in Regency Square, Brighton. He was pictured surrounded by masked crew members and wearing a policeman’s uniform from the 1950s -a nod to the period in which the film is set.

A scene for the film was also shot inside Belcher’s Cafe in Montpelier Road, Brighton, where filming went on into the early hours of this morning.

Harry could be seen sitting inside the cafe with his co-star and on-screen wife Emma Corrin.

It is thought that filming will also take place on Holland Road, Hove, Hove seafront and in Newhaven.
