The Whitefriars Sixth Form Art Competition is back and now open for entries.

The annual competition offers 16 to18-year-olds in Harrow the opportunity to showcase their work at the Whitefriars Art Gallery space in Wealdstone

The free competition has been set up by resident artists at Whitefriars Studios to provide sixth form age students a platform for their work and help to kickstart potential careers.

There is no theme and paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, video and other art forms are eligible.

Prizes on offer include £300 for the winner and £150 each for the two runners-up.

Entry is online with shortlisted pieces hung, judged and exhibited in the Whitefriars Gallery space.

Up to 30 artworks will be chosen by the judges to exhibit. There will be a Private View/Exhibition opening ceremony on July 8, during which the winners of the competition will be announced.

The exhibition will run between July 9 and 18.
