The Harrow East MP attended the opening for new care home facilities.

Honister Gardens care home in Stanmore has officially opened with new facilities to provide supported living for five residents aged 18 to 30, while also enabling them to live independently in the local community.

Staff are onsite to help those needing supported living, and the facilities are equipped with a disabled bathroom, disability-friendly kitchen, and a dining room for recreational use.

MP Bob Blackman was at the Covid-secure ribbon cutting ceremony on March 5 and received the first official tour.

The MP said: “With my sister living with a learning disability in a care home, I know by personal experience how valuable and vitally needed the service SFI Care Solutions provides is.”

“I would like to say a big thank you to all those involved in developing this new facility. It is an honour to officially open it and I look forward to seeing the difference it will make. Thank you all for what you are doing within the borough!”

Deborah Pinnock, the operations director for SFI Care Solutions that runs the Stanmore home, said: “I would like to say a tremendous thank-you to Bob for accepting our invitation to officially open our new facility at Honister Gardens.

“The past year has been a particularly challenging one for care providers across the country. I would like to extend my thanks to all our those who have gone above and beyond in helping us complete the works in these challenging circumstances.”
