HIGH Wycombe saw the highest number of domestic abuse cases in the county over a seven-month period.

Violence committed in the home between partners was highest in Wycombe than any other area in Buckinghamshire, according to publicly held data.

Statistics revealed in a Freedom of Information (FoI) request showed 151 incidents of domestic abuse recorded by Buckinghamshire Council between January and July this year.

The data, requested by the Free Press in July, has only just been published by the council.

Despite asking how many victims cited the lockdown as a contributing factor for the abuse, Buckinghamshire Council could not provide that information.

Neither could it confirm how many cases saw the victim rescued, nor how many abusers were removed or convicted.
