A police officer who is no longer working, would have been dismissed for gross misconduct after pressuring a detainee.

PC Otgontenger Orgil, who was based within the North West Area Basic Command Unit, was under fire following an incident on September 3, 2018.

He faced allegations that his conduct breached the standards for respect and courtesy and his duties.

In 2018, it was said he pressured a detainee to change his mind about the presence of his solicitor, so that the officer could conduct the interview earlier.

It was also alleged he deceived the detainee and said that he could not get medical treatment for his injuries until after he was interviewed.

While he is no longer serving as an officer, the panel concluded on September 14 this year that if he was still working, he would have been dismissed without notice.
