Two children at a girl’s school have tested positive for coronavirus.

Bentley Wood High School for Girls in Stanmore sent an email to parents confirming that it is aware of two children in the school community who tested positive for COVID-19 recently.

The email, which has been seen by the Harrow Times, says the school is working closely with Public Health England and is monitoring the situation.

It added that the school will remain open for children who remain well and is keeping this under review.

Harrow Council and Bentley Wood High School for Girls have been approached for comment.

This comes after the council said they are aware of at least eight positive COVID-19 tests across six schools in the borough.

While the council did not specify which schools were affected, a spokesperson from the council said: “The impact ranges from sending a handful of individuals (pupils and staff) home immediately to self-isolate to individual classes, and whole/or partial year groups.

“Each school immediately sought advice from Public Health England’s London Coronavirus Response Centre (LCRC) and followed the guidance provided including advising which students and staff should self-isolate immediately and carrying out thorough cleans.”
