The first of four armed burglars who broke into a home and threatened a family has been jailed.

Craig Green, 38, of Beatty Road, Stanmore, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for his role in a burglary.

On October 11 last year, police were called to reports that four people, including one dressed as a police officer, had got into a property in Bush Grove, Kingsbury.

The burglars threatened a family with a firearm and crowbar and they got away with a safe containing a significant amount of money.

Detectives investigating the burglary identified Green as being involved and he was arrested a couple of weeks after the raid.

He was found guilty of aggravated burglary and on Friday July 9, he was sentenced at Harrow Crown Court to 11 years in jail.

The hunt for the three other people involved remains ongoing.

Acting Detective Sergeant Mitchell Lockey, from the north west command unit, said: "A family were threatened by Green and his accomplices. Everyone should feel safe in their homes but the events of that day will stay with them.

"It is only right that Green is beginning a lengthy prison sentence. Hopefully, with the help of the public, those who were also involved will be caught and share his fate."

Police would like to speak with anyone who has information regarding the burglary and who is yet to come forward.
