THE latest data showing the number of new Covid-19 cases in each local authority has been published.

The figures are released by Press Association through Public Health England and show the rate of new cases in each area, based on tests that have been carried out both in laboratories 'pillar 1' of the Government's testing programme and in the wider community 'pillar 2'.

This data reveals the number of cases per 100,000 population and is based on figures updated on July 9 on the Government's coronavirus online dashboard.

Data for the most recent three days (July 7 to 9) has been excluded as it is incomplete and likely to be revised.

Warrington's infection rate has decreased again from 4.3 to 3.8.

Three weeks ago, the rate was 9.1 in the town.

However, Halton's has more than doubled from 3.1 to 7.

The list shows the rate of new cases in the seven days to Monday, July 6.
