Only nine coronavirus-related deaths were recorded at east London hospitals over the whole of last week.
Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT), which manages King George Hospital in Ilford and Queen's Hospital in Romford, declared four deaths in the week beginning May 25.
Neighbouring Barts Health NHS Trust, which manages Whipps Cross in Leytonstone and four other inner-east London hospitals, declared five.
Both east London trusts are seeing an increasing number of days where no new deaths are recorded.
BHRUT declared no new deaths and Barts Health just one.
At the peak of the pandemic, in the week beginning April 6, BHRUT saw 100 deaths and Barts saw 149 recorded.
In total, there have been 1,015 deaths confirmed at the two trusts since the start of the pandemic in March.
Barts Health NHS Trust has seen almost 200 more deaths than BHRUT and the most deaths from the virus of any NHS trust in London.
Across the nation, there were more than 100 new deaths confirmed yesterday.
