A murder investigation has been launched and a man was arrested following a fatal stabbing.

Police were called to reports of a man seriously injured on Alexandra Road, Walthamstow, on Tuesday (March 31) at 10.55pm.

Shortly after officers and ambulances attended, the man, in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man, in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into police custody.

Enquiries are underway to establish the identity of the victim and to inform the next of kin, with a post-mortem examination to take place in due course.

The investigation is being led by detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.
