A pet owner is "over the moon" after her dog won best breed at Crufts.
Rhian McLoughlin, 28, from St Albans said she was not going to enter six-year-old pharaoh hound Phreddie into the show but wanted to take part in memory of his owner who died three weeks ago.
He was looked after by Graham Reeve and the veterinary physiotherapist helped show Mr Reeve's pharaoh hound's at competitions for more than 20 years.
Ms McLoughlin, who now looks after Phreddie, said none of his dogs have won Best in Breeds at Crufts before.
She said: "This is my 16th Crufts but my first one without Graham. I am over the moon, I cried when we won.
"Today has been particularly emotional. Phreddie really deserved it. I'm also sad the one person should be here sharing the win with us, isn't. "We did it for Graham."
Phreddie went up against 27 other dogs and came out on top.
She added: "At home Phreddie is very quiet, soppy and a big baby who likes nothing more than lounging on the couch."
