THE fire service has been spotted dealing with a burnt-out car in South Ham this evening (Friday).

The car was found at the car park for Russell Howard Park, in St Andrew's Road, at around 7.30pm this evening.

One fire crew from Basingstoke tended to the vehicle, with one hose reel deployed.

A spokesperson from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the vehicle was "severely damaged" by the flames. No casualties were reported.

It is not currently known who caused the blaze or how it started.

Hampshire Constabulary has been contacted for a comment.
