Keen walkers can help raise money for BBC Children in Need with a ramble through Harrow's countryside and woodland.

Bushey and Oxhey Round Table and Ladies Circle is organising a Countryfile Ramble for BBC Children in Need on October 5th at 11am.

The 5km route will start and finish from the car park at The Case is Altered opposite the Grimsdyke Hotel and pass through woodland and Bentley Priory Park.

It is suitable for all ages and there is the option of staying for a drink after the walk.

There is a suggested entry donation £3 to £5 to be paid on arrival.

Jeni Wright, Bushey and Oxhey Ladies Circle chairman, said: “We’re really looking forward to supporting this year’s BBC Children in Need and our ramble is shaping up to be great fun.

“The work that BBC Children in Need does is so closely aligned to work of Round Table and Ladies Circle, in supporting helping to change lives of those in need for the better.”

BBC Children in Need’s vision is that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood and the chance to reach their potential.

The charity currently supports more than 3,007 projects across the UK, and in the last year, helped change 580,000 young lives.

In 2019/2020 nationally, Ladies Circle is supporting Societi, which advocates for families who have been affected by Kawasaki’s disease; a heart disease in young children and promote awareness of a little known disease.

The Round Table is supporting CALM, a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK.
