The summer holidays are over which means one thing - the morning commute is about to get a whole lot more stressful.

Tube passengers on the Northern Line face major problems this morning with the entire line suspended due to a signal failure. Tickets are being accepted onSoutheastern, Thameslink, London Trams and London Buses.

Severe delays again on the Met line between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aldgate due to a new signalling system. Minor on the rest of the line. London Underground tickets are being accepted on Chiltern Railways, London Overground and London Buses.

Minor delays on the Bakerloo line too between Queen's Park and Harrow & Wealdstone due to a signal failure at Kensal Green.

On the roads, very long delays clockwise on the M25 between j26 for Waltham Abbey and j27. It is due to a crash. One lane is shut. Traffic is solid from before j25. As a result, roads into north London from the M25 including the A10 and through Cockfosters are busy.

Queues anticlockwise on the M25 between j20 for Kings Langley and j19 for Watford.

In north west London, busy on the Hendon Way southbound between Brent Cross and Childs Hill. A406 also very slow in stages westbound, particularly towards Wembley and Henly's Corner.

15 delays on the A1 in Borehamwood southbound approaching Stirling Corner - affecting Hendon Wood Lane southbound.

Slow in Uxbridge Road, Stanmore, due to roadworks.

A12 very slow through Redbridge towards the Redbridge roundabout .
