A teenager has been charged in connection with an incident in Watford where a person was reported to be seen holding a gun.
Police were called to Albert Road South, near Sainsburys and Pryzm, in the town centre on Monday night, after receiving an anonymous call.
A gun was seized alongside ammunition and a vehicle. Four teenagers were detained.
- Vinal Rathnaweera, 18, of North Watford, has been charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition for a firearm. He is due to appear before Hatfield Remand Court tomorrow (15 August).
- Three other men from Watford – two aged 18 and one aged 19 – were also arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm. They have all been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
