Hertsmere MP Oliver Dowden says he feels honoured by his new role in government under Prime Minster Boris Johnson.
Mr Dowden was appointed Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General following Mr Johnson's reshuffle last week.
Mr Dowden says his main focus will be on cross government delivery of policies and the constitution.
Today, Mr Johnson announced a new Office for Veterans' Affairs is being created "to provide life-long support to military personnel".
It will be led by Mr Dowden and Johnny Mercer MP who has been appointed Minister for Defence People and Veterans.
Following his promotion to the Cabinet, Hertsmere's MP said: "I’m honoured and delighted to have been invited by the Prime Minister to join his Cabinet.
"My main focus will be on cross government delivery of policies and the constitution.
"I will be working on the issues that matter to the people of Hertsmere, as well as the rest of the United Kingdom, such as housing, education and top-quality infrastructure."
