MASKED men brandishing a knife and a crowbar raided a convenience store in Orford last night.

Police were calls to McColl’s on Concorde Place shortly after 10.30pm on Thursday, July 18, after receiving reports of an armed robbery.

Two men wearing balaclavas – one of who was carrying both weapons – entered the shop and forced staff to open the storeroom.

They stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene in the alleyway between McColl’s and Best Go Local Express.

Detective sergeant Ian McNabb said: “This was a terrifying incident for the staff members who were physically attacked by the men.

“Thankfully they are not injured, but we need to find these men as quickly as possible to make sure that no one else becomes a victim.”
