A radio listener from Walthamstow got to meet the stars after winning a showbiz quiz.

Janet Scantlebury took part in the The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Friday after winning the programme's 5 Star Big Quiz the previous day.

The quiz gives callers 60 seconds to answer showbusiness-themed questions, and if successful they get a free ticket to The Big Guest Friday show and join a chat with celebrity guests.

The behavioural support worker, who also works as a fashion consultant, was asked questions including what band Freddie Mercury was associated with and which character Tom Hanks voiced in the film Toy Story.

After answering the questions correctly, Janet got to join DJ Zoe Ball, actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Holland, television presenter Dermot O’Leary and singer Will Young the next morning.

Janet said: “It was a surreal but wonderful experience. Zoe Ball was a beautiful host and her team were so helpful as well.”

As part of the show, Janet got to ask a question to Jake Gyllenhaal, but the answer to her question popped up in the chat before she got to ask it.

Under pressure for a new question, she asked whether the Donnie Darko star had played any characters that left a lasting impression - ones he thought about after shooting.

He answered with his role in the movie Stronger, about a victim of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Janet also describes meeting Spiderman star Tom Holland, whom she describes as an “absolute gentleman".

She added: “All his PR staff were saying that he was very busy – but he took time out to do a video for my niece and nephew, who are massive Spiderman fans. I was honoured and humbled by the way he did that for me despite his busy schedule.”

The regular breakfast show listener described why she decided to try her luck.

She said: “It was really weird – I was leaving for work when I heard the show and just thought I would send a text and see what happens. As I was walking out the door to my car my phone rang with ‘unknown caller’. I answered and it was a producer from Radio 2!”

Janet feels that the whole experience was wonderful and the stars all friendly.

She added: “I felt like a child because I was extremely nervous! But they all made me feel welcome with big bear hugs! It’s not every day that you get a hug and a selfie from movie stars.”

The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show plays The 5 Star Biz Quiz! From 7.30am to 8am every Thursday on Radio 2.
