It's officially Bring Your Dog to Work Day (Friday, June 21).

Pet owners now have a valid excuse to bring their beloved dogs to work so there is no need to worry about leaving them at home.

At the same time, colleagues can enjoy having a furry companion in the office.

What is Bring Your Dog to Work Day?

Bring Your Dog To Work Day is an annual country-wide event that raises money for charities dedicated to making a difference to the welfare of dogs.

All proceeds this year go to dog rescue charity All Dogs Matter, and an international charity Animals Asia.

Tomorrow will be the sixth day organised by HOWND, a dog grooming products business based in Borehamwood.

Businesses or dog owners who want to take part can become an official sponsor by making a donation online on bringyourdogtoworkday.co.uk

You can also choose to raise money for a charity of your choice

Dog lovers are encouraged to share their photos of the day on social media using #BringYourDogToWorkDay.

What's happening in the area?

Dog holiday company Barking Mad in Enfield and Harlow will celebrate the day by attempting to set a brand-new world record.

The business is planning to hold a live webinar and inviting as many dogs as possible to attend.

There is no charge to join and donations to approved dog charities are welcome including DogsForGood.

Mandy Joy, owner-operator at Barking Mad Enfield and Harlow said: “We’d love to invite as many dogs to get involved as possible.

"The only requirement is that they have a human with a reliable internet connection, webcam and an audio headset! The webinar will be hosted from Barking Mad HQ with office dog, border collie Paddy, at the helm.”
