Man needed 30 stitches after Watford pub fight

Officers continue to investigate a fight at the Tudor Arms in Watford, which broke out towards the end of the Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham.

Hertfordshire Constabulary has confirmed no arrests have been made.

Two men in their 20s were taken to hospital for treatment and discharged a few hours later.

An image which circulated on social media showed a man with a serious cut dangerously close to his left eye.

Video shared on social media and seen by the Observer showed men throwing punches at each other both inside and outside the pub.

It shows the chaos starting inside the Arms with plenty of pushing, shoving, and shouting. Numerous glasses can be heard smashing on the floor.

Then a man in a blue t-shirt comes through the crowd, with a bloody nose and blood all over his arm, hand, and t-shirt.

Outside, the violence continues with punches being thrown before a scuffle breaks out in the road. Several people continue the fight on the floor while others try to break it up.

Detective Sergeant Chris Parperi, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said: “The disorder happened on an evening where emotions were running high due to the Champions League final.

"We know at least two people suffered injuries as a result, however we believe there were more and we are now trying to identify further victims. If you were injured but have not yet spoken to us, please get in touch.

"We are following a number of lines of enquiry and are now in possession of footage that has been shared on social media, which appears to show the incident.

"We would ask that people please refrain from sharing this footage any further as it now forms part of our investigation.
