Drivers are likely to experience further delays on Watford ring road with ten-day roadworks about to start.

Affinity Water will be carrying out work in Upton Road at the junction of the A4178 and there will be stop-and-go boards in place.

The work will begin tomorrow (Wednesday) and is expected to last until June 15.

Upton Road is a popular cut-through for motorists heading towards Rickmansworth Road.

It could spell more misery for drivers on the ring road who continue to face long delays in the mornings due to an ongoing traffic light trial.

Hertfordshire County Council is looking at the possibility of introducing a second pedestrian crossing near the Clarendon Road junction and the timings on the traffic lights at the junction have been changed.

It is only in the mornings that traffic seems to be affected, and queues have returned this week following the school half-term break.

This morning, queues were back to Stephenson Way and Waterfields Way.

The council says the trial could last for around 12 weeks, taking us up towards the end of August.
