A burst water main is causing major tailbacks at the Dome roundabout today.

There was a huge puddle of water in St Albans Road outside North Watford library on Saturday and yesterday, temporary traffic lights were installed outside the library.

Affinity Water has a permit until Saturday with Hertfordshire County Council to complete the work.

Harrow Times:

One man said cars on Saturday were splashing through the “dirty, smelly water” near a pedestrian crossing.

Even outside of rush hour, the work is causing problems at an already busy junction.

There are delays on all routes into the Dome roundabout – worst affected is drivers travelling on the A41 from Leavesden and in both directions along St Albans Road.

UNO says its 635 bus service which goes via North Watford and Garston is experiencing delays of up to 60 minutes.

Harrow Times:

St Albans Road, towards Watford, and side streets off it, are also busy as motorists try and find alternative routes.

Leave plenty of extra time if you are travelling in the area.
