A man has been charged with the murder of a shopkeeper in Pinner.

Alexander Stephen Gunn, 31, of no fixed abode was charged on Thursday, April 4 with the murder of 54-year-old Ravi Katharkamar.

He was also charged with robbery.

Gunn has appeared in custody at Willesden Magistrates' Court today on April 5.

He had previously appeared at the same court on Monday, April 1 charged with burglary, theft from a motor vehicle, possession of an offensive weapon and driving whilst disqualified.

This follows an investigation by detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command.

The investigation was launched after police were called at approximately 6.00am on Sunday, March 24 to reports of a man suffering stab injuries in Marsh Road, Pinner.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended but Mr Katharkamar died at the scene at 6.46am.
