A SALTCOATS fine dodger who owed hundreds of pounds in fines stumped up the cash after getting a nasty shock when he discovered his bank account had been frozen.
The Saltcoats man repeatedly ignored warning letters and refused to pay two fines of £280 and £156 for having an unlicensed vehicle, imposed at Kilmarnock JP Court.
The money was successfully recovered from his bank account.
Freezing bank accounts or arresting wages are among the measures available to the authorities for recovering unpaid fines.
