Health service bosses will present options for future hospital provision at a public meeting next month.

Senior clinicians and leaders from West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust and Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) will ask people to discuss the options and give their views at Shendish Manor Hotel, London Road, Apsley, on March 7.

All the options under consideration will fall within the cost threshold in line with the hospital trust’s annual turnover, which is £350 million.

The trusts say there will not be a new single site emergency and planned care hospital. Options involving moving emergency and critical care from Watford are unable to take place due to the requirement of relocating other independent services.

The meeting evaluation will also consider the investment needed in emergency and specialist care in Watford General Hospital and in planned care as well as the implications of these options for other locations and services.

The feedback will then be evaluated by a panel of clinical staff, NHS managers, local authority partners, community representatives, Healthwatch and the voluntary sector.

After the evaluation there will be further financial and technical analysis before a preferred way forward will go to the boards of both NHS organisations. The then agreed proposal will be considered by the Government for the Comprehensive Spending Review for autumn this year.

The meeting will run from 7pm to 9pm. To book a place go to https://west-herts-hospital-meeting.eventbrite.co.uk or call 01442 898885 or 01442 284116.
