A woman's passion for gardening saw hundreds of green-fingered visitors come and view her back garden in aid of charity.

Jackie Copping welcomed 216 keen gardeners to her home in Nazeing on Saturday, February 16 as part of the fourth annual Snowdrop Festival.

Hot chocolates, cookies, plants and gardening equipment was sold to raise £1,552 for the several charities through the National Garden Scheme.

Ms Copping said planning for the event took more than three and that she was pleased with how the day went.

“It was a beautiful day, it was sunny and the snowdrops were at their best,” she said.

“We weren’t expecting that many people would come but the day itself, especially the weather. had a lot to do with it.”

The avid planter gained lot of interest during the winter for her conceptual garden design.

“You follow the path and pass the flower beds on display. It can be an inner or literal journey.” explained Ms Copping.

The Snowdrop Festival continues throughout the month.
