A memorial event is being planned to remember murdered Jaden Moodie.

Family members including his surrogate uncle Josh Grant are planning a memorial event in Arnold in Nottinghamshire to remember the 14-year-old.

Mr Grant is due to meet with Member of Parliament for Gedling Vernon Coaker about organising a memorial event in Arnold over the coming weeks with Jaden's family, friends and teachers.

Jaden attended Redhill Academy in Arnold before moving to Leyton six months ago with his mum.

He was killed in Bickley Road near Leyton last Tuesday.

Mr Grant said: "Jaden was a 14-year-old boy with a loving family around him and he was taken away from us all too young.

“My nephew was a good kid – I spent a lot of time with him.

“I took him out and spent a lot of time with him. He’s grown up with my son the two of them together.

“It’s just an incredibly sad time for the family right now.”

Met Police are investigating the murder of Jaden Moodie and issued an appeal for information today one week on from when he was stabbed to death.

Detectives believe there were five males in the car that collided with Jaden.

Three of these males exited the car and stabbed Jaden seven times before returning to the car and driving off.

The vehicle, a black Mercedes B Class, was found in the Carlisle Road area last Wednesday and was removed for forensic examination.

Detectives returned to the Bickley Road and Carlisle Road areas last night to conduct a further appeal for information from the community.

No arrests have yet been made.
