Budding entrepreneurs and fledgling businesses are being encouraged to enter a competition that could see them win a year’s worth of support.

Harrow Council’s ‘Dragon’s Den’-style programme gives people in the borough the chance to pitch their business ideas to a panel of industry experts.

If successful, they could win a year’s worth of assistance and guidance – examples of which include a lump sum, access to facilities, and training courses.

Judges will sift through the applications before inviting a selection of finalists to pitch at a live final at the civic centre.

Cllr Keith Ferry, responsible for business and planning at Harrow Council, said: “Every year the business proposals never fail to impress me.

“The event itself is a fantastic opportunity for the local business community to come together.

“As soon as you walk into the room, you can feel the energy – everyone is bursting with passion, drive and determination.

“No matter where you are on your business journey, you will leave the event feeling inspired, motivated and ready for your next step in your business.”

Last year, Earth to Earth Organics, a natural skincare company run by Danny and Tenesia Pascal, took home the crown.

Nominations for the 2019 Business Den open on January 1. Further details on how to apply can be found on Harrow Council’s website and social media channels.
