A shopping centre has been recognised for its environmentally green practices.

Held annually by The Green Organisation, the Green Apple Environment Awards recognise, reward and promote environmental practice around the world.

The Broadwalk Centre Edgware was recognised for the impact that it has had on the wider community, through its nine-month-long ‘Love Your World’ campaign.

The campaign educates shoppers on recycling and raises awareness on energy saving initiatives for the home.

The Broadwalk Centre Edgware general manager, Angela Brooks, said: “

“When we first set out on the campaign, we knew that environmental events were not something that you’d normally expect to encounter when coming to a shopping destination like ours, but it was extremely important to raise these issues in an engaging way for our customers.”
