Nominations for the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust’s annual Staff Excellence Awards are now open.

People can now recommend an ‘NHS hero’ working at Northwick Park, St Mark’s, Ealing and Central Middlesex hospitals.

Nominations are open until December 31 and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in March 2019.

Staff from Clayponds and Willesden community hospitals, and community services may also be put forward.

There are 12 individual and group categories for clinical and non-clinical staff which include Volunteer of the Year, Team of the Year, Unsung Hero and individual divisional awards.

People can also nominate staff for a special Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognises a staff member who has worked for the trust for more than 15 years.

Dame Jacqueline Docherty, chief executive of London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “We’re so proud of the excellent work our staff do every day, so I’d encourage people to nominate an individual or team they feel has made a difference to them.”

Wendy George, head of charitable funds for London North West Healthcare Charity, added: “We’ve funded the awards for a number of years and it is a great opportunity to give something back to staff.

“It’s a popular annual event and we’re happy to support it and help give people the recognition they deserve.”

Previous winner Judit Korpas said: “I was so very surprised and happy to win.

“One of the nicest things was that after the ceremony people came up to me and told me that they were very happy I won – even though they didn’t know me. That felt so good.”

The awards are made possible thanks to funding from London North West Healthcare Charity and external sponsors.
