A rugby club has launched a new fitness bootcamp to help teenagers stay active.

Harrow Rugby Club started the Fitness Skills & Fun programme in association with the Young Harrow Foundation to get more young people involved in sport.

The free after school sessions are aimed at 14 to 19-year-olds in Bushey, Stanmore and the Harrow area on Tuesday afternoons at Harrow Rugby Club in Wood Lane, Stanmore.

The weekly 90-minute sessions cover a range of sports focusing on fitness and skills development through games and qualified instruction. Beginners and non-sporty types are welcome to join in.

Neil MacDonald, youth chair at Harrow RFC said: “It’s important that sports clubs like ours offer our experience of working with young people and our facilities for wider use by the community.

“This is an excellent way to start addressing this problem and help young people in the area.”

Fitness Skills & Fun runs on Tuesdays at 4.30pm supported by Rockhopper Fitness.
