A care home will host the community for coffee and cake to raise money for those affected by cancer.

Care UK’s Buchanan Court on Sudbury Hill in Harrow will take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on September 28, for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Doors open from 11am to 12.30pm.

Residents and visitors alike will enjoy sharing a cuppa with friends and sampling a selection of homemade cakes, all available for a small donation to the charity.

The event is organised every year by Macmillan to fundraise for people living with cancer. Since the first coffee morning in 1990, over £200 million has been raised.

Home manager, Ruth halls, said: “Taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning provides us with an opportunity to show our support to the fantastic Macmillan nurses and give thanks for all of the incredible work they do.

“It also creates a lovely occasion to invite local people, family and friends to join us for a cuppa and a catch up while raising funds to support the vital services provided by Macmillan.”
