Two boys were shot in the town centre this afternoon.

At around 1.17pm emergency services were called to Wealdstone High Street and Palmerston Road in Harrow.

There London Ambulance Service paramedics found a 15 year-old boy with a gunshot wound.

Further down the high street they also treated a 12 year-old boy for gunshot wounds.

Both boys were taken to Central London Hospital where they remain.

Their condition is currently unknown, but it is believed the injuries are non-fatal.

No arrests have been made and no firearm has been recovered, police have said.

Shortly before 7pm Harrow Community First Responders Tweeted: "Officers are on scene at #Wealdstone High Street following a shooting earlier this afternoon.

"Two children aged 12 and 15 have been injured. A crime scene between High Street and Palmerston Road remains in place whilst the investigation continues."

On Saturday, a 17-year-old known locally as Rhyhiem Ainsworth Barton was shot dead near his home in Southwark, south London.

He was discovered with critical injuries on Warham Street shortly after 6pm.
