A taxi driver was stabbed when two men opened his cab door and demanded money.

The man, in his 50s, was waiting in his car in the rank in College Road, Harrow, when the incident happened.

When the two men approached him he attempted to close the door of the cab - and one of the men stabbed him in his leg and arm.

The suspects then made off empty-handed, and the victim was taken to a central London hospital for his injuries. He has since been discharged.

The suspect who used the knife is described as white, about 20, and speaking with an eastern European accent.

It happened at 5.30am on Sunday 4 March.

There have been no arrests but detectives at Harrow CID are investigating.
