Harrow Council is calling on members of the public for assistance as it seeks to support rough sleepers during the freezing conditions.
It has launched a campaign to ensure that homeless people in the borough are given a bed space as the temperatures continue to drop below 0C.
This follows the news that emergency shelters have been set up across London to provide everyone with somewhere warm to stay.
The council noted that being outside for a prolonged period of time in such weather can be “deadly”.
It wants people to call its homelessness services so it can offer support during this time and offer advice on getting back into work and accommodation in the long-term.
If you spot a rough sleeper, call 020 8424 1093 or, for out-of-hours assistance, 020 8863 5611.
