Swimmers in Harrow are raising money for Cancer Research and Marie Curie in the world’s biggest charity swim.

Swimathon will take place over the weekend of April 27 to 29 at Harrow Leisure Centre and Hatch End Swimming Pool, which Everyone Active runs for Harrow Council.

More than half a million people have taken part Swimathon’s 31-year history raising £48 million for good causes.

John Sewell, Everyone Active contract manager, said: “It’s always fantastic to see how many people turn up for the annual national Swimathon.

“Swimming is such a great form of low impact cardiovascular exercise with many health benefits, and the Swimathon offers a challenge for every level of swimmer.

“Not only is this a great way to support Cancer Research and Marie Curie but it may even inspire you to take up swimming more regularly.”

A new 400 metre swim is available, other distances are 1.5km, 2.5km, or 5km.
